An alternative poster design for The Perks of Being a Wallflower movie. Instead of creating a traditional “floating heads” style poster, I decided to portray aspects of the actual movie. Since it was a very popular book, I knew that this approach would resonate well with fans of the novel, while giving newcomers a taste of what to expect from the film. The quote on the paper is a good summation of what the main character, Charlie, is constantly struggling with, and of course, a direct quote from the book and movie. The title of the film can be seen in the keys of the keyboard. Though this may not be the focal point of the poster, when hung in a theater, at actual size, this is where one’s eye-level would be.
